Understanding IGNOU Assignment & Submission Remarks
Everything you need to know about assignment evaluation statuses, transmission timelines, and qualifying marks.
What does "Check Grade Card Status for detail" mean?
When your assignment status says "Check Grade Card Status for detail.", your assignment has been officially evaluated by your Study Centre and transmitted to IGNOU headquarters. Your marks (out of 100) are published in your Grade Card.
What does "Received and in-process at Headquarter" mean?
"Received and in-process at Headquarter for updation" means your Study Centre has uploaded your assignment award list, and the evaluation division is currently processing and linking your marks to your degree record. Marks typically appear in your Grade Card within 7 to 15 working days.
Minimum Passing Marks in Assignments
For Bachelor's degree CBCS courses (BAG, BCOMG, BSCG, Honours) and Master's programs (MA, MCOM, MCA, MBA), the minimum passing score in assignments is 40 out of 100 (40%). For old non-CBCS Bachelor degrees (BDP/BA/BCOM), the passing score is 35 out of 100 (35%).
What if Assignment Status Shows "Not Found"?
Study centres evaluate physical handwritten copies after the final submission deadline (April-May for June TEE, and October-November for December TEE). Do not panic if your status is not updated immediately—retain your submission receipt or acknowledgment slip.
